Battery System Integration Engineer

Full-time position

This full-time position for a Battery System Integration Engineer is based in Los Altos, CA. You will be part of a cutting edge engineering team that is developing a roadable electric vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) vehicle called ASKA™.

 

The Battery System Integration Engineer is responsible for the design, testing and integration of battery systems, bringing experience to build best in class high power eVTOL application system with supreme thermal management performance.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • highly experienced in battery systems, bringing expertise in cells, modules, high voltage busbars, switchgears, BMS and diagnostics

  • perform requirements definition for battery system based on eVTOL operational requirements and environmental conditions (especially in thermal, EMI, HIRF, shock and vibration)

  • integration with aircraft structure (work closely with Structure engineers)

  • electronics integration (work closely with Electrical system engineers)

  • management design, analysis and testing

  • trade off studies to further reduce weight and volume, continuous improvement in package efficiency.

 

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience relating to battery technology is required

  • Proficiency in CATIA and at least one battery system modeling/simulation suite

  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills in electrical, thermal, structural, and systems domains, including root cause determination and corrective action

  • Experience in electrical circuit simulation and analysis of high voltage hardware and electrical loads

  • Bachelor’s degree major in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering is preferred, Master’s degree with thesis related to battery technology is a plus.

Stress Analysis Engineer

This position for a Stress Analysis Engineer is based at our R&D center in Mountain View, CA and you will be responsible for optimization of the structural and mechanical design of a roadable electric vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) vehicle called ASKA™.

 

This is a specialized role for an aerospace stress analysis engineer (minimum of 10 years experience) with the following experience and qualifications:

 

  • Your responsibilities will focus on composite stress analysis

  • You’ll use your expertise in dynamic and static stress analysis

  • Actively collaborate with an engineering team to improve the manufacturability of a product (Design for Manufacturing) while controlling cost and weight.

 

Required Work Experience

 

  • Dynamic and Static stress analysis experience

  • 10 years minimum of engineering experience in design, stress analysis and production environment with composite and metal structures in the aerospace industry

  • Proficient in Altair software

Structural Design Engineer

 

Full-time position

On-site

Mountain View, CA

This position for Structural Design Engineer requires a minimum of 8 years work experience as in the aerospace industry, designing wing structures of aircraft.

Day-to-day structural design activities involve creating CAD geometries, optimizing the design and validating it through FEA simulations. To validate the computational results, you will progress through bench, wind tunnel and flight testing, resulting in a fully operational vehicle.

Location: On-site in Los Altos, CA


BS in Mechanical Engineering or MS with focus on structural design or a comparable industry career of 5+ years.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


Conduct structural and stress analyses for optimal structural weight
Develop, create and validate aeronautical designs and mechanical components
Coordinate with engineering, suppliers, and program management to ensure optimum solutions, and that the design intent is maintained to production
Identify and develop creative solutions of designs and resolve engineering/structural/mechanical challenges
Prepare static and dynamic Finite Element Analyses and share findings with all team members
Innovate, develop and create viable new ideas
Participate and take responsibilities during the flight test experience
Document and present findings to cross-functional teams and management.
 
Required Experience:

  • Mid-senior level work experience as a Structural Design Engineer (Aircraft)

  • Proficiency in composite/metal fabrication and manufacturing

  • High proficiency in FEA

  • Must be proficient in CATIA V5 or V6 and 3D Systems software

  • Proficient in part and assembly geometry creation, GD&T, simplification and data management using CAD software, preferably SolidWorks

  • Proficient in aircraft metal and composite design structure

  • Experience with aircraft mechanical system design and systems integration preferred

  • Experience with flight testing, including instrumentation, data acquisition and processing a plus.

IT/Technical Operations Support

  • Develop a multichannel digital marketing program to support sales efforts and new user acquisition across channels

  • Perform day-to-day social media activities

  • Create a regular publishing schedule for social content

Qualifications

You have 4+ years of hands-on workplace experience in professional social media management and digital marketing.
