Propulsion Control Engineer

We’re looking for an Propulsion Control Engineer to help our engineering team take ASKA™ skyward – ASKA™ is the world’s first electric drive and fly vehicle that can drive on the road like a car and take off vertically, and fly in the air like an aircraft.

 

The ASKA™ electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) vehicle enables families to live up to 100 miles outside a city and benefit from affordable housing and green space, but quickly travel to the city center in 30 minutes.

In April 2021 we opened the first showroom dedicated to air mobility and launched pre-orders of a limited edition of ASKA™, available in 2026 subject to final certifications. The Propulsion Control Engineer will be working closely with multiple systems engineers, such as Propulsion, Flight Control, Energy Storage (BMS, engine generator ECUs) and Drive systems. A strong working knowledge of CAN communication and software interface is required. The position will focus on the development of Motor PIDs, controls, message structure and bus loading.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design of propulsion and automotive drive motor control, CAN communication with other systems

 

Minimum qualifications

  • Proficiency in motor control (torque control, speed control)

  • Experience in designing ARINC or CAN communication protocols among multiple party controllers

  • Experience in creating .dbc files and performing HIL, SIL simulation testing

  • Proficiency in vehicle diagnostics (

  • Proficiency in interface control, change control, and requirements control

 

Desired/optional qualifications

  • Experience in developments using ARINC825 or CANopen

  • Experience in

  • Experience in MATLAB/Simulink

You will be responsible for the development of the hardware of electrical system.

Program Manager

The ideal candidate has managed a team of engineers in new product development in an automotive or aerospace environment. You have solid Mechanical and/or Electrical engineering experience. Good communication and people skills are essential. You’ll be joining a mature growth startup and be a dedicated contributor to the team, our vision, and write the future of air mobility.

This is an on-site position at the ASKA™ headquarters in Los Altos, CA. Occasional travel (5%) will be needed to ensure vendor coordination and verification.

 

●  Responsible for managing an entire engineering project of varying complexity within established scope

●  Utilize creative and mature engineering judgment, manage complex engineering problems by leading and collaborating with the engineering team

●  Align with the customer and development joint vision objectives

●  Develop and administer organizational schedules, tasks, and deliverables

●  Set performance requirements, estimate work scopes, ensure quality of designed product, and monitor budget performance

●  Conduct briefings for senior level management and conduct technical meetings for internal/external contacts and customers/suppliers

●  Understand and demonstrate knowledge of the product development process from concept to production

●  Proficiency in configuration management process (change control)

●  Organize priorities on engineering deliverables in accordance with short term and long term goals

●   Have very good presentation skills - Familiarity with part 23,27 FAR requirements

●   Demonstrate ability to communicate to multiple engineering disciplines such Aerodynamics/Structures/Electrical/Manufacturing/Supply Chain/Finance

●   Experience in PLM/PDM tools such as Enovia (3DExperience Enovia preferred)

●   Understanding of project management software tools such as Microsoft Project and Enovia is a plus, also online management tools such as Monday and Trello.

About You

The ideal candidate is an experienced sales manager, or a top-level sales person, with experience in automotive, aviation or high-end products. We are also open to people with demonstrated successful sales experience in other sectors.

You need to take traditional sales management to a completely new level – making the sales connection both virtually and in on-site meetings with potential customers.

ASKA™ is a revolutionary drive and fly vehicle and we are targeting upper income customers. We need someone with strong communication skills and who is passionate about customer service.

Responsibilities

You will have a hands-on role in the day-to-day sales management and work on-site at our Los Altos showroom. You’ll be in a dynamic, fast moving startup environment that is defining the future of transportation – we need someone who has excellent problem-solving skills and an agile mindset.

  • Handle all incoming sales inquiries from our web site and from visitors to our showroom

  • Committed to full transparency with our team and with our clients

  • Actively prospect for customers and manage CRM

  • Respond to sales queries, emails in a professional, well-spoken manner

  • Assist in the preparation of sales events at our showroom: invite potential customers, provide personalized sales service, follow-up

  • Travel to industry events and represent NFT Inc. as a sales manager

  • Brainstorm viable sales promotion ideas and work to make them happen.

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of sales experience required

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications, in-person and over the phone

  • Computer literate (Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint, Google Suite, CRM tools) 

  • Strong understanding of the role of social media as a sales tool

Job Details

  • Devise cutting edge digital strategies and tactics to drive our pre-sales of ASKA™

  • Develop a multichannel digital marketing program to support sales efforts and new user acquisition across channels

  • Engage and monitor our company’s social media audiences and all incoming leads on a daily, consistent basis by reading and responding with targeted information

  • Perform day-to-day social media activities

  • Create a regular publishing schedule for social content

  • Regularly analyze performance results and make recommendations for decisions across spend, targeting, email, creative, landing pages, and beyond.

  • Weekly KPI reporting to the founders.

 

Qualifications

You have 4+ years of hands-on workplace experience in social media management and digital marketing. Please provide examples of past social media campaigns that you designed, developed and rolled out.

  • You thrive in a performance-focused startup environment and feel energized by scaling businesses

  • Flexibility to quickly adapt in a rapidly changing environment, meeting targets

  • Good communicator and open to share ideas and information with other colleagues

  • Ability to design content such as social media graphics for Facebook cover, profile pic, thumbnails, ads, landing pages, Twitter profile, Blog, etc. Strong plus if you can use Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
