NFT Inc. is based in Mountain View, California and developer of the ASKA™ – the first viable Electric Vertical Take-off and Landing vehicle (eVTOL) in the world with drive and fly capabilities, providing door to door transport for daily commuters and designed with a reasonable cost factor. The ASKA has both vertical and short takeoff and landing capabilities (VTOL and STOL). ASKA™ is on an exciting journey skyward – NFT has signed a five-year Space Act Agreement with NASA. Join us!

Position: Lead Structural Design Engineer ( Structures, Loads & Dynamics - Wing Structures)

In this senior position, you’ll lead the optimization of the structural and mechanical design of the ASKA™ vehicle. As a Team Leader Structural Design Engineer on our R&D team, you will be working closely on aero-mechanical design of the ASKA™ vehicle, ensuring optimum performance in an agile environment.

Day-to-day structural design activities involve creating CAD geometries, optimizing the design and validating it through FEA simulations. To validate the computational results, you will progress through bench, wind tunnel and flight testing, resulting in a fully operational vehicle.

Location: On-site in Mountain View, CA

Minimum 8 years work experience as Structural Engineer designing wing structures of aircraft. No under-graduates or graduate students please

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or MS with focus on structural design or a comparable industry career of 8+ years

  • Sorry, no relocation to the Bay Area is offered, no exceptions

  • Visa: For the right candidate already working in the U.S., we'll consider a visa transfer.

Education: Completed BS in Mechanical Engineering (no under-graduate or graduate students please) or MS with focus on aircraft structural design.
